Donegal, situated in the north west coast of Ireland is the home of both Irish Tweed and the Irish Tweed Store.
Each piece of our clothing has the history and tradition of Donegal sewn into every stitch.
Established in 1938 by C Doogan & Sons, in Carrick, Co Donegal, in an era when all clothing was produced from natural sustainable fibres by time tested traditional methods and crafted to Last!!
Irish Tweed Store today has continued this tradition of using only the finest natural fibres, including Pure New Wool, Merino, Lambswool, Alpaca, Cashmere,Silk and Linen.
Examples of these natural yarns can be found in our Irish Walking Socks & Scarves.
At the Irish Tweed Store our Craftspeople use the same skills and craft methods as handed down through the generations.
The Stunning Landscape of Donegal provides inspiration for colour and texture, while originality is achieved through unique blending of natural fibres, which are first of all spun into original yarns and the woven into traditional tweeds, which results in our beautiful range of unisex Irish Caps, Shawls, Waistcoats to name but a few.
